Further afield, Clarity Aquatic and Covey Associates are working closely with Brazeau County and the University of Alberta to assess how floating wetlands may enhance sewage treatment processes in clarifying ponds.

This unique and exciting project represents one of the few full-scale floating wetland projects in cold-weather climates. The project is progressing well and has showcased some of the unique features of the Clarity aquatic floating wetlands, such as the addition of handrails to the perimeter of the wetlands (ensuring safe access throughout) as well as bird and turtle netting. In addition to assessing treatment performance, one of the main aims of this project is to assess how the native plants recover from the winter season.

We look forward to working with our research partners as this project progresses to its next stages.
