Dr Chris Walker
Dr Chris Walker is co-inventor of the Clarity Aquatic Floating Wetland system. He pioneered the use of floating wetlands in urban development, designing and managing the first floating wetland system to be integrated into a new urban development as part of the stormwater treatment train. Following this, he has designed numerous floating wetland projects in the stormwater, wastewater and mining fields. Chris has a strong research focus, having co-authored several key papers on floating wetland performance and design.
He is also the Environmental Manager of Covey Associates, a leading Sunshine Coast Engineering consultancy. Chris has a PhD from the University of the Sunshine Coast in Environmental Science and is a specialist is urban lake design, ecology and Water Sensitive Urban Design. He is also an Adjunct Senior Research Fellow at the University of South Australia and an Adjunct Associate Professor at the University of the Sunshine Coast.
Dr Terry Lucke
Terry is co-inventor of the Clarity Aquatic Floating Wetland system.
Terry was Associate Professor in Hydraulic and Civil Engineering at the University of the Sunshine Coast in Australia from 2010-2020 where he led a team of researchers in the Stormwater Research Group. The focus of Terry’s research includes the development and evaluation of innovative stormwater and wastewater management systems, and the advancement of Water Sensitive Urban Design practices. Terry has a PhD in Water Engineering from the University of South Australia. Terry is a Chartered Professional Engineer, a Fellow of Engineers Australia and a Chartered Engineering Executive.
Steve Neubecker is the general manager and a director for Clarity Aquatic.
Commencing as a mentor with the Innovyz Waste and Recycling Program, Steve has continued to work closely with the Clarity Aquatic team and now has taken on a leadership role as the General Manager.
Steve has a diverse set of skills that have been developed through the course of his career. During his time as a PhD qualified civil engineer, Steve worked with Advanced Geomechanics as a consultant and project manager to the oil and gas industry on some of the largest and most complex offshore projects in Australia.
Stuart Douglas is the Founding Director of Innovyz & Innovyz Institute. He also co-founded SME Growth Capital and a self-professed Habitual Entrepreneur.
Stuart was the interim manager for Clarity Aquatic during the Innovyz Waste and Recycling program and has supported the company through the design, prototyping and manufacturing stages.
Having started and grown a company several times, Stuart became interested in the process of identifying, funding, and then commercialising breakthrough ideas and innovations. Stuart initially co-founded SME Growth Capital to help companies get the capital they needed for growth.
Andy Roberts is a Commercialisation Manager at Innovyz and was originally a mentor for Clarity Aquatic during the Innovyz Waste and Recycling program. He now provides support in business development, marketing and some advice on company strategy and messaging.
Andy was formerly the CEO of the Water Industry Alliance (WIA) and has over 15 years of experience of working with and advising a range of both small and big business and government as clients.
As CEO of the WIA he partnered with the SA Government and irrigators to manage the writing of the business case that ultimately secured the SARMS-3IP $265 million grants program. He also led the Australian water mission to China in 2014.
Christine Thursby is the Communications Officer at Innovyz and has provided Clarity Aquatic with support through the establishment stage of the company and continues to provide back-office support for company administration purposes.
Christine is Project Manager/Operations manager with proven ability to analyse, plan and implement programs of development and change in large corporates or SME’s. Highly capable in both site/branch, corporate or academic environments.
Excellent interpersonal skills, client communications, problem solving, time management and personal organisation. Strong administrative background in the areas of quality systems, project management, analysis, finance and reporting.
